Have you seen our dream bus?

Greetings and Blessings !

We are looking for a half size diesel school bus to move toward our dream of a home and means of transportation and exploration. Our dream is to explore eco-villages and sustainable communities across the continent, from this we are planning to make a multitude of film projects, ethnographic texts, photographs and artworks all directed towards our desire to expand the realm of consideration as we move forward together as a culture and species. The project will culminate in a documentary film cataloging our journey and what we encounter with various interviews and spatial documentation of community. We are on a journey to explore the various options that offer a deeper and more connected sense of being on and with the earth and each other.

facets of the project include:

~ A feature length film based on a child’s epic adventure in and around a beautiful community setting. This we feel will have the wonderful position of introducing sustainable community from the perspective of a child’s innocence, a perspective that may avoid the pre-judgements of alternative living that exist. The second purpose is to raise the ethical question of how we want our children growing up.

~ assembling an archive of video and photo documents geared as teaching tools, how-to documentations of innovative technical and agricultural techniques.

~Ethnographic and theoretical film and writing looking at various approaches to living in community, in terms of organization, challenges and the meaning of the subjective experience to those who live it. How do people articulate their difference and what does it mean to live outside the mainstream urbanism? How might we represent the process of a transition and difference that has led to this choice and what tensions and contradictions might exist in the minds of “ecovilligers” between themselves and the surrounding industrial consumer society?

While recognizing that there is not one homogenous alternative (alternative by its nature signifies difference) We hope to recognize different patterns of organization and articulate the distinctive communities in terms of how they function and feel. To this end autoethnogaphy will be an extremely useful method - that is writing on culture with the inclusion of ones own subjective positioning. This endeavor would likely follow a two fold production of a subjective narrative, resembling fictive prose or autobiography, as well as and in conjunction with a theoretical exploration reflecting on the themes and processes of community and our experience. (Please message us if you would like to read an example of this kind of work taken from Eric’s experience in an urban sidewalk community.)

The Bus!

We are looking for a Half size diesel bus so that we can convert it to run on Veggie oil. (Eric has done 2 conversions on a bus and car currently part of a mobile circus troupe)
Preferably the Bus is not a van conversion (they are too small, Eric is quite tall) and in good running condition. If you or someone you know has our bus please message us and we can talk about an exchange. We have the means to buy a bus that is under or around two or three thousand dollars.

Peace and Blessings to you !
