Things are making a huge shift in my home, which most of you probably know as Harmony Home, the big yellow and pink house at 333 E 13th.
All 3 of my current roommates are moving into different spaces leaving me with the house and the space to create a home with new family.
Everyone is moving out on great terms; Xandra is taking a sweet beach side sublet/catsit for year, Lyndz is moving in with her love (yay love!) and Theda, after being in this home for 4 years, is moving into a new place that will allow her to focus more on her music.
I feel very blessed to call this place my home. After 2 and half years of living in this space I am loving it more than ever and am really excited about the next level of my "home".
I run my sustainable clothing company, Maha Devi design, out of the house and currently rent one room on the 2nd floor as my design studio and have one of the rooms in the basement (more garden level) as my bedroom. I am considering moving back up to the 2nd floor and taking over the little office as well. I'm not quite sure what I should do and would like to co-create with my new roommates what and how we use the space.
There is a massive shed that I can see as a workshop/ woodworking space and the backyard wants to be turned into an oasis - a secret garden in the city . . . I have plans to by nice patio furniture and all!
The house is over 100 years old and has a yard all the way around the house, including a garden. There are 4 levels - the top attic room, which has a sink and is like 2 rooms; the 2nd floor, which has 2 rooms and a little office, a bathroom with a clawfoot tub and a toilet closet; the main floor that has 2 big living rooms (we have been keeping them mostly clear for dancing/yoga/music), huge kitchen and full bathroom, and the lowest level, which has 2 bedrooms, laundry and storage.
Every room in the house gets lots of light.
I am looking for roommates who are interested in making this house their home, first and foremost. The house is old and needs love and it's part of the lease that we take great care of the yard and garden.
May 1st the attic room/space is opening up. Currently the rent for it is $725 inclusive (bills, wireless internet, phone, long distance, and house neccessities). It's a huge space and could easily double as an office and a room.
June 1st there will be 2 more rooms available. Right now the other rooms are between $475 and $550 inclusive.
